SUBROSA NEWS
We are proud to be able to add this fantastic act from Salt lake City to our stable and to release their second album! Yes, Subrosa has a self released, and sold out, debut album in their discography called The Worm Has Turned and this one was what turned us on to them in the first place+ an intriguing interview in Unrestrained where Rebecca Vernon, amongst other things, spoke of their own drumming rehearsal place ghost... And indeed, there is a supernatural vibe to SubRosa's compositions, at least for those with ears to hear. Now, SubRosa's music, some may argue, is quite untypical for I Hate, and we agree, it sounds like nothing we hever ever released before. However it certainly posesses the two very important distinguishing feature's that all our acts have,
namely; feeling and atmopshere - and what more can one ask for?
Subrosa, in their own words, comprises the deep thrum that makes up the underlying plasma of our invisible surroundings. The dark air of eerie violin, warped vocals, downtuned guitar and thunderous, sludgy bass grips its focus on the low end. The supernatural blues-based rock riffs are grossly stripped-down. Extreme straightforwardness is the name of the game in getting to the primitive center inside all of us that has the most power to overpower. |
