“Hell Symphony” is ROOT’s seminal second album from 1992, one of the most evil and original sounding black metal recordings of all time, each song a hymn to one of the many guises of the Prince of Darkness. The band’s activities coincided with the then recent spurt of second wave black metal but ROOT’s sound didn’t have much in common with these other bands. Theirs was a road of individuality, an approach unlike any other, before or after them. Much of this had to do with great and versatile vocals of Big Boss. The band tried English lyrics for the first time and although their grasp of the language was tenuous at best they get the point across being very liturgical and plain evil. “Hell Symphony” is the soundtrack for your journey to the very bowels of hell.
